A new finish starts with the existing cabinet.
Cabinets are not simply smaller walls. Existing coatings, grease, materials, hardware, and condition affect what preparation and finish will suit them. Share photos and describe the surfaces so suitability can be reviewed. Cabinet and specialty-finish work is subject to project scope and availability.
Know what is included.
Ask whether doors, drawer fronts, cabinet frames, interiors, and hardware removal are part of the estimate. Discuss cleaning, preparation, finish, drying or curing requirements, and how the kitchen will be used during the work. Structural repairs and replacement hardware should not be assumed to be included.
Color that works with everything staying.
View samples beside counters, flooring, tile, and appliances. A finish should suit the cabinet material and normal use, with care instructions appropriate to the product. Allow the manufacturer’s recommended curing time before hard use or cleaning.
Let's clear things up
How much does interior painting cost in Honolulu?
There isn’t one reliable price for every home. Room size, wall condition, ceiling height, trim, access, and the number of color changes all affect the scope. Ask for a written estimate that separates preparation, surfaces, materials, and any exclusions. We’ll discuss your space before quoting; no surprise number pulled out of a paint can.
What finishes work well in Hawaiʻi’s humid climate?
Choose a coating for the room and surface, not humidity alone. Washable finishes can suit busy walls; moisture-prone bathrooms need a product rated for that use plus effective ventilation. Follow the manufacturer’s surface preparation, temperature, humidity, and drying instructions. Paint is not a fix for an active leak.
